Zhenya + Olivia

Two Year Anniversary - Couples Session

Z+O
We are beautiful by sharing the unbeautiful,
secrets and bad habits aged and stained like antique silver.
I remember when I first told you I loved you
— Zhenya

The time has come for you to be officially introduced to this lovely couple!

I am so pleased to introduce you to Zhenya Yevtushenko and Olivia Ek.

These beautiful humans are coming up on their two year anniversary together and thought “We just wanted some nice photos together since we are both bad about being photographed together.”

Olivia a Nebraska native moved to Tulsa in 2016 and is continuing her educational studies in psychology.

Zhenya, a Tulsa poet born in Russia whom studied History, Political Science, and English at TU.

Both met working together at Brookside By Day, and the story is staff history from there!

Who would have thought after taking a look at some of their portraits that they felt they are bad being photographed together? Ha!

Their favorite foods are nachos, margaritas, pizza, red wine, peanut M&Ms and potato chips and enjoy playing games cooking together and miss going traveling and to concerts.

If there were a theme song to them both entering a room together each time it would be Boom shake shake the room by DJ Jazzy Jeff.

These two seriously light up anywhere they are at with some good fun mockery and lighthearted laughs.

Here is what they had to say about their experience

Originally what were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about? What was the outcome?

I was anxious about acting natural and being myself, but once we got started the nerves slowly went away and we both loved the entire experience

What kind of look were you going for in your portraits?

I wanted more nature scenery and he wanted more city, but we got the best of both thanks to Megan’s help. We also wanted something that captured our natural goofy selves.

Whats ONE piece of advice you would give to other couples for the session?

Just relax and have fun! The pictures will turn out great if you just be yourself with each other. RELAX.

Any tips for new clients on how to prepare for the session?

The first step is to communicate honestly.

Megan knows what she’s doing but she would rather capture images that reflect who you are.

The second thing is to  relax and have fun.

A photo session is a long process but if you treat it like a date with your partner it can be a fun and intimate experience.

Be flexible and have fun!
